Abstract:ATP binding cassette subfamily A member 1 (ABCA1) is a important member of box transporter super family, which promotes efflux of intracellular free cholesterol and phospholipids. It plays crucial roles in reverse cholesterol transport (RCT) and HDL generation. Present study shows that the lipid metabolism (LM) supports the tumor growth through providing energy demand, which suggests outflow of cholesterol mediated by ABCA1 may play anti-tumor effect. This review mainly discusses the role of ABCA1 in lipid metabolism and the progress of tumor.
