Objective To investigate the function and mechanism on invasion and metastasis of TGF-β in esophageal carcinoma. Methods EC9706 cells were treated with TGF-β, and then Lnc-ATB expression in EC9706 cells was detected by quantitative real time PCR (qRT-PCR); the invasion and metastasis of EC9706 cells were analyzed by Transwell; after silencing the expression of Lnc-ATB in EC9706 cells, treated with TGF-β or not, the invasion and metastasis of EC9706 cells was analyzed by Transwell. Results The expression of Lnc-ATB was higher in Lnc-ATB-siRNA group compared with Lnc-ATB-NC group (P < 0.05), and Lnc-ATB siRNA can effectively silence the expression of Lnc-ATB in EC9706 cells; the invasion and metastasis of EC9706 cells was significantly upregulated after treated with TGF-β (P < 0.05); the ability of invasion and metastasis promoted by Lnc-ATB after treated with TGF-β of EC9706 cells in TGF-β+Lnc-ATB-NC group was higher than in other groups (P < 0.05); the ability of invasion in control group was higher than in TGF-β+Lnc- ATB-siRNA group and Lnc-ATB-siRNA group (P < 0.05). Conclusions TGF-β promote the invasion and metastasis of cells via up-regulating the expression of Lnc-ATB in esophagus cancer.
