Abstract:Colchicine is one of the earliest alkaloids studied and has a wide range of biological effects. It has been used in clinical practice for more than 200 years. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrosis, anti-tumor and other functions. In addition, it is also used in clinical treatment of Behcet’s disease, familial Mediterranean fever and other diseases. In this paper, the mechanism of colchicine action and its therapeutic effect in different diseases were reviewed by reviewing relevant literatures.
