Abstract:To observe the effectiveness of perioperative drug therapy in patients with tophi, and to seek a method to raise the rate of wound healing and reduce postoperative complications. Methods A retrospective analysis was carried out in 73 cases diagnosed as tophi in the Affiliated Hospital of Youjiang Medical College For Nationalities from January 2010 to June 2015. All patients were treated with surgical removal of tophi, and divided into glucocorticoid group, colchicine group and antibiotic group according to different perioperative drug treatment.The rates of postoperative fever and gastrointestinal reactions, and the rate of wound healing 2 w after operation were compared. Results In the glucocorticoid group, the pain was significantly relieved, and the gastrointestinal reaction rate was low, the wound healing rate was 95%, which were better than the other groups. Conclusions Reasonable application of glucocorticoids in the perioperative period can effectively inhibit the gout attack, promote wound healing, relieve fever and other systemic symptoms and gastrointestinal reactions.
