Abstract:Objective To investigate the expressions of p53, Her-2 and Ki67 in thyroid papillary carcinomas (TPC) and their significance. Methods The expressions of p53, Her-2 and Ki67 in 128 cases of TPC, 56 cases of thyroid adenomas and 9 cases of normal thyroid tissues were detected by immunohistochemical technique. Results There was no positive expression of p53, Her-2 or Ki67 in the normal thyroid tissues. The positive expression rate of p53 in the TPC was 85.15% (109/128) which was significantly higher than 26.78% (15/56) of the thyroid adenomas (P < 0.05). The positive expression rate of Her-2 in the TPC was 25.78% (33/128) which was significantly higher than 12.49% (7/56) of the thyroid adenomas (P < 0.05). The positive rates of Ki67 expression in the TPC and the thyroid adenomas were 38.28% (49/128) and 23.21% (13/56) respectively, the statistical analysis showed no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusions P53 and Her-2 expressions have certain guiding significance for the evaluation of the occurrence, development and prognosis of thyroid papillary carcinoma. Ki67 has no definite clinical significance in differential diagnosis of TPC.
