Abstract:Objective To explore the function of portal vein arterialization in hilar vascular reconstruction. Methods Six cases with hepatic artery invasion of peri-hilar malignant tumors were treated with resection of involved hepatic artery, portal vein and hepatic artery anastomosis, and hepatectomy for radical resection. Results There was no mortality or liver failure in peri-operation stage. The pathological radical resection rate was 100% in the 6 cases. Neither portal hypertension nor liver function damage was detected during the postoperative six months. Conclusions In the hepatic artery invasion cases, portal vein arterialization through vascular anastomosis with hepatic artery of appropriate calibre is a worth recommended operational method to enrich liver arterial blood supply and reduce the rate of postoperative complications.
