Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of life quality in cancer patients by Uyghur Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy (FACT) scale. Methods A total of 471 cancer patients were investigated by Uyghur questionnaire which was translated from and back-translated to the Chinese edition of FACT and adjusted with culture. The reliability and validity were evaluated. Results The Cronbach's α coefficient of the overall scale was 0.798, split-half reliability was 0.81. The Cronbach's α coefficients of all dimensions of influcing factors test ranged from 0.754 to 0.906. The first measurement and the second measurement had no significant difference (P > 0.05). In addition to the field of good psychology, correlation coefficients with the other areas of the areas were over 0.700 (P < 0.05), the field correlation coefficients with other areas were less than 0.060 (P > 0.05). The cumulative contribution rate was 77.299%. Response evaluation needs further study. Conclusions The Uyghur scale has good reliability and validity, which can be applied in public health and medical fields to assess quality of life for Xinjiang people.
