Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of Paniculta lactone dropping pill for the treatment of wind-fever sore throat caused by upper respiratory tract infection. Methods Totally 170 cases of symptomatic patients were randomly divided into Paniculta lactone dropping pill treatment group (group A, 85 cases) and Roxithromycin capsule control group (group B, 85 cases). The patients had continuous drug administration for 5-7 days. Symptom integral changes were observed 1, 3 and 5 days after medication and compared between both groups. Results The 5-day cure-number in the groups A and B was 29 cases (34.12%) and 11 cases (12.94%) respectively, there was a statistically significant difference between them (P < 0.05); the symptom integral in the group A was improved more than that in the group B. Conclusions Paniculta lactone dropping pill has unique curative effect in the treatment of wind-heat syndrome sore throat caused by upper respiratory tract infection and relief of other symptoms, but it has few side effects and high safety coefficient, and is worthy of promotion of use.
