Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of Dixon sphincter preserving surgery with double stapling anastomosis combined with total mesorectal resection for rectal cancer. Methods The clinical data of 80 patients with rectal cancer treated in our hospital from April 2013 to April 2015 were analyzed. Using random digital methods, they were divided into experimental group and control group. Both groups received Dixon anus preserving operation with total mesorectal excision for treatment; the control group had a combination with single-instrument anastomosis, while the experimental group had double-stapling anastomosis. Clinical curative effect was compared between both groups. Results The patients in the experimental group had less blood loss, shorter hospital stay and earlier recovery of intestinal function compared to the patients in the control group, the differences were significant (P < 0.05). The complication rate in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The good rate of anal function in the experimental group was 87.5%, which was significantly higher than 67.5% in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusions When double stapling anastomosis combined with total mesorectal resection is applied to Dixon retention anus operation for rectal cancer, the curative effect is distinct, the recovery of patients' anal function is good. Therefore it is worth popularization and application.
