Objective To study the advantage of tongue traction in endotracheal intubation method in patients of emergency critical care. Methods 160 emergency patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group adopted tongue traction for endotracheal intubation and the control group with normal methods. The time of the two groups for endotracheal intubation, the success rate, the number of intubation and adverse reactions were recorded and compared. Results The endotracheal intubation time, number of intubation and adverse reactions were less in the experimental group. The differences were statistically significant (P = 0.023). Conclusions The method of the clip tongue traction for endotracheal intubation establishs artificial airway in a short period of time, improves the one-time success rate and reduces the adverse reaction.
