Abstract:Many studies have confirmed that the Toll like receptor (TLR) family plays an important role in the pathogenesis of IgA nephropathy (IgAN), and TLRs are closely related to the clinical phenotype and renal pathological changes of IgAN. Therefore, TLRs may become new non-invasive biomarkers and therapeutic targets. However, there are numerous members of the TLR family, and their roles in the pathogenesis and progression of IgAN at different stages have not been fully elucidated. Therefore, this article reviews the mechanism of action of TLRs in IgAN, as well as their research progress as potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets, in order to provide scientific basis for further research on TLRs in IgAN.
