Abstract:Objective To analyse the effect of stainless steel crown (SSC) and nano-resin on the recovery of occlusal function and chewing pain in children with carious pulp exposure. Methods Ninety-one cases of children with carious pulp exposure with a total of 168 teeth admitted to Meizhou City People's Hospital from Feb 2022 to May 2024 were retrospectively selected and divided into two groups according to different treatment methods, both groups were given root canal treatment, the control group (n = 46, 86 teeth) was treated with nano-resin filling restoration combined with calcium hydroxide paste root canal filling restoration, and the observation group (n = 45, 82 teeth) was treated with SSC restoration combined with calcium hydroxide paste root canal filling restoration, and the observation group was treated with SSC restoration combined with calcium hydroxide paste root canal filling restoration. after root canal treatment, the observation group after root canal treatment with SSC restoration combined with calcium hydroxide paste root canal filling restoration, to compare the effect of the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The excellent rate of masticatory function in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The pain degree of the observation group was lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the maximum occlusal contact area and maximum occlusal force in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05), while plaque index (PLI), gingival index (GI), sulcular bleeding index (SBI) were lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05). The differences of maximum occlusal contact area, maximum occlusal force, PLI, GI and SBI in the observation group before and after treatment were greater than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The complication rate of observation group was lower than that of control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion Adoption of SSC restorations combined with calcium hydroxide paste root canal filling in children with carious pulp exposure improves periodontal health and occlusal function and masticatory efficiency.
