Abstract:Tic disorder is a chronic neurodevelopmental disorder with an increasing incidence in recent years. Its pathogenesis is closely associated with dysregulation of the cortico-striato-thalamo-cortical circuit? and functional abnormalities in related brain regions. Emerging evidence indicates that traditional Chinese medicine formulas exert multi-target, multi-pathway therapeutic effects by modulating the homeostasis of monoamine and amino acid neurotransmitters, suppressing neuroinflammation, enhancing immune function, promoting neural structural remodeling and synaptic plasticity, regulating key intracellular signaling pathways, and correcting gut microbiota dysbiosis and restoring intestinal microecological balance. These findings provide robust experimental evidence for elucidating the mechanistic basis of traditional Chinese medicine formulas and offer novel insights for clinical management and drug discovery in tic disorders.
