Abstract:Objective To explore the regulatory effect of Yishen Jiegu Decoction on bone metabolism in elderly patients with hip fractures. Methods A total of 98 elderly patients with hip fractures admitted to Jiamusi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2023 to May 2025 were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 49 cases in each group. The control group was treated with internal fixation and conventional Western medicine, whereas the observation group received additional treatment with the Yishen Jiegu Decoction on the basis of the control group treatment. Both groups of patients received continuous treatment for 3 months. The clinical efficacy, hip joint function, bone metabolism indicators, bone growth factors and adverse reactions of the two groups of patients were compared. Results After three months of treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The difference in hip joint function scores before and after treatment in the observation group was greater than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The differences in serum osteocalcin, osteoprotegerin, bone alkaline phosphatase, C-terminal cross-linking telopeptide of type I collagen, procollagenⅠ C-terminal propeptide before and after treatment in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The differences in serum bone morphogenetic protein, transforming growth factor-β1, and basic fibroblast growth factor before and after treatment in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions in both groups (P > 0.05).Conclusion Yishen Jiegu Decoction has a definite therapeutic effect on elderly patients with hip fractures. It can improve hip joint function, regulate bone metabolism indicators and bone growth factors, with a favorable safety profile.
